Kai's 4th birthday
Sept 24 Kai turned 4! We did pirates in the park at Kai's request with an assortment of rice krispie treats.....simple and easy. Some matties came dressed up and some didn't, but they had a great time running wild at the park together. Our idea was to have a treasure chest with chocolate coins, but that ended up to be chocolates that resembled coins in a duct taped shoe box. LOL Then we thought we'd do treasure maps for fun......which Derrick did make a highly artist and elaborate map for only Kai. Derrick also drew mustaches on most of the kids with face paint crayons and we did end up doing a rather ghetto treasure hunt by flinging the chocolate candies into the wide open grass and letting the kids rifle through to find "treasure". Surprisingly, a few parents commented that part was their child's favorite part!! Makes me laugh. So, a simple party in a nutshell but Kai loved everything about it. It was a great celebration of him together with friends and family.

Birthday Pirate all grown up....mustache and all. Happy Birthday Kai-man! WE love you.
