The last month of randoms

Gosh, it's been awhile. I blink and have a stack of laundry that hits the ceiling, my baby is 4 years old and understands WAY too much, and everyone in this house has been in desper-need of a hair cut for weeks! It's time to get on track here (laundry is in and blog is on the way). These are just a collection of random pic over the last month. I have a few theme blogs that are brewing, but stay tuned for those. Pre-bath naked time is treasured in our house. It revs things up for the bedtime routine (just what every parent looks forward to at 7pm). I am realizing Eli was probably several hours past a needed change based on the swelling of his diaper. :) My little jumping bean has been getting rather gutsy lately. She jumped off the stairs during Skate Church while camp chairs were set up right at the landing pad. Her highly dramatic siren cry was a sure way to win the sympathy of 20 teen guys who watched it all go down. She came away with an egg on her head and cut lip. After she caught on, she was quick to show her battle wounds to just about anyone. She looks pretty proud I'd say. All my kids like to snuggle up for movies and couch time, especially after they just wake up. Eli likes to enjoy his snack with his big bro on a regular basis. Now that he's starting to boycott the morning nap pretty regularly he's up for 10am snack time with Kai and Addie. I must admit though, it's much easier to do it all at once and prepare the same thing. A thumbs up from me. Kai is recruiting himself more and more for helpful tasks, like dishes, yard work, etc. Not always as helpful as he thinks. Sounds backwards, I know, like I should be doing the persuading for help. But he begged me to do the dishes this night. I recall jumping at the chance. Eli has finally joined the story time routine (mostly just at bedtime for now). He digs it! He and Addie don't always sit through just any book. But it is pretty fun to see his enthusiasim to participate.

Labor Day 2011

Yes, our weekend was loaded! The wedding and then packed Labor Day. So much fun resulting in exhaustion! Colorado Balloon Classic 2011 with the Gaws! Made it for the launch at 7am. Donuts and juice is officially a tradition......2 years running. We could see our breathe this early Sept 5 morning.....but that didn't slow the donut consumption! Our favorite balloon......reminded us of new movie "RIO." Daddy and Kai-man. Mommy and Eli keeping warm together. Buddies, Campbell and Kai. By 8:30am we were on the road to meet little Gavin in Denver. We finally made it up to welcome Brian and Lindsey's little guy! So precious! They are doing a great job with this cutie pie! Unfortunately, after leaving little Gavin we headed to IKEA on Labor Day. Yeah, that was stupid. First mistake, we WOKE the kids to shop after only 1 hr of sleep. We were in awe at the store for about 10 mins. Then Derrick and I had a similar feeling, "get us outta here!" It was a never ending path at that point amongst every shelf, candle, picture, etc etc that you could ever imagine. I thought shopping was bad with the kids on a normal basis......add several thousand people and an oversized double stroller and you can only imagine the experience. Next IKEA trip will be leisurely with my husband or girlfriend while sipping coffee and will be on a weekday. Wow-zers! Here's the proof we made it.

Wedding weekend extravaganza!

Uncle C-Diddy and Aunt JC tied the knot this last weekend for a Ponderosa wedding extravaganza! We enjoyed great time with family and old friends. The 4 cousins from Omaha was a major highlight everyone, along with a new favorite friend, Mary from Ohio. It was a fairy tale wedding, horse carriage and all. We loved having an extended stay back at camp (felt like home). The kids looked absolutely adorable. 7 cousins! Kai and Issac walking the isle for rehearsal. Drew escorting the ladies, Ella and Addie. He helped keep them focused. Cousin chit chat. The kids found the only available shade between cars during downtime of the rehearsal. Dolled up. Game faces on. My sister-in-law Becky and I strategically planned how to finish lunch, nap, eat a snack, dress and primp for the wedding for ourselves and 7 kids while the daddy's were busy with groomsmen duties. So very proud this was the end product....total cuteness. The flower girls, Addie 2 and Ella 2. The littlest flower girl and #7 cousin, Tessa. Precious outfit. My lil man with a spike.....a very big hit in addition to the suit vest. Post wedding family pic.....at least all heads are turned in the same direction :)! Little squirts loving on each other.
