Entertainment

Entertainment has become a key part of Kai and mommys days together. Mommy is pulling all kinds of toys, noises, and funny faces out of her sleeve to recieve Kai's smiles and his "almost" laugh. He's getting into toys more......captivated by them, grip them when I place them in his hand, and bring them to his mouth to chew on! He's not rolling over yet...but on the verge of his tummy to his back. His 4 month doctor's appointment was last week. He's 11 lbs. 14 oz. and 24 in. long and all else is looking good. He's not quite ready to start solid foods, but we'll try cereal around 5 months. He got his second round of vaccination shots, which he's gettng pretty good with (since he has shots at home each month for RSV prevention too). Well, back to playing.......

Dress to Impress

Can we say "ladies man?" Thanks to Uncle Reido and Mandi.....this is Kai's newest method of catching a smile from you! Just having it on made him feel more confident with his figure! I think it's the bow-tie personally! Who could resist?

If Every Day Could Be BATH day!

Kai has always enjoyed bath time....excluding the lotioning afterwards. It has evolved since his hospital days......first, he had to be swaddled in a blankie during his bath and have the extremities peep out one at a time for washing. Now we've done away with that routine and we're stark naked in the kitchen sink! Here's his latest fun bath time addition.

Smiles and a Pacifier

Although Kai is becoming so much more animated and fun, he is also getting LOUDER. His cries are no longer a quiet fuss and when he really wants something he let's us know! Therefore, in our time of need, we have become "pacifier people!" I am on a mothers crusade to prevent my child from sucking his thumb until he's in 3rd grade! Although a thumbsucker is somewhat of a blessing now......like when he spits it out while we're driving in the car or while he's half asleep in his crib.....I dread the future of not being able to take it away! So we're popping in that "paci" every chance we get! Well, not in place of a smile.

Holiday Happiness

Derrick and I thoroughly enjoyed having Kai this Christmas! He was the center of attention whereever he went! And let's just say, "Santa" was good to him! He's becoming so much fun in the last few weeks. He is smiling and cooing and occassionally is outright screaming in happiness. He weighs a whopping 10 lbs. and 13 oz. and turned 3 months old on Christmas Eve. He's growing so fast! It's hard for Derrick and I to even remember that baby in the hospital with all his tubes who seemed soooooo small.
Thanks to everyone for their blessings and gifts this holiday season! We are truly blessed by our Lord and Savior.
