We are padding Kai up for the summer...literally. He picked out a Spiderman set of pads and helmet in prep for riding his Strider bike outside in the gravel and hitting the sk8park! As you can tell, he was pretty psyched to try them on! Just a cute one of Addie in her little 80's outfit! She is loving to stand, although still struggling to get there herself! I'm way behind in posting videos. This first video is of Addie's scoot! This is literally her crawl and she is able to reach objects further away than one would think! She is also my little dancer! She bee-bops to most all music....especially funny when she's standing! The second video is Kai and Addie playing a watered-down version of peek-a-boo at lunch. This a common game at meal time around here. Kai is such a good older brother....he likes to make his sister laugh and he can sometimes get her to do it when no one else can. The bond is forming already! LOL Enjoy.

Cousins Coagulate again

We had a great time visiting family in Omaha this past week. Beautiful weather, green grass and flowers. Ah spring!! It was so fun to see the cousins play together and grow their relationships. Kai really enjoyed the sandbox in the yard, the playground nearby, throwing rocks in the lake with the boys, the zoo, wagon rides, learning new games, and just bumming around the house playing with new toys. Addie was overwhelmed with stimulation. Her girl cousin is much busier than she (crawling over her and pulling up on her), so it was interested to watch them interact at this age. We discovered just how dramatic Addie can be! Here's a backwards recap of our week! These are pics are from a great park in Ft. Morgan, CO where we stopped on our way home to stretch our legs! The ducks were swarming us for Addie's Puffs (although you can't tell from the pic). Omaha has an excellent zoo, especially for water animals which we lack here at home. My kids loved the wagon (used throughout the whole trip)...so we're contemplating our next summer purchase! My in-laws have a great park just a few blocks from their house, so we did a picnic one afternoon and spent several hours playing there. One cooler morning we played at the mall playground...Addie was still sporting the bedhead!! We also ate lunch in the food court and all the boys were KINGS (see last pic). Here's Aunt Becky reading with Kai and Issac....lots of new books that Kai enjoyed. Pics in the tub with the cousins are always classic as well. Addie enjoyed the bath book....the girls were hard to catch together. I have all individual pics of them!

A couple Kai quotes

Kai is very verbal for his age and never ceases to amaze us. I've been vowing to remember some of the comical and sentimental things he says, however I'm horrible even after several hours. So now I have a little list on the fridge....no excuses the quotes shouldn't make it there! Here's a few from the week (a little background is needed for some of them): 1. Last week I made baked sweet potatoes for supper. After talking them up and discussing how healthy they are (which is one of Kai's favorite questions recently "is _____ healthy mom?"), he decided they were pretty "bangin'" (another choice word of his). He stated, "I'm proud of you momma." Derrick asked "why" from the kitchen. Kai replied, "because she's my precious girl." It brought tears to my eyes. Derrick calls Addie his "precious girl" on occasion and we think that's where he picked it up. Kai needed his own "precious girl" too. 2. As he's playing Kai states, "I'm going to sing about God on my guitar" (which is an air-guitar). He leaves and returns after several minutes, "Mom, I need a bigger guitar." If he only knew..... 3. My "little snack man" pulled his stool up to the kitchen counter and asked "Can I have a M&M?" Quickly followed by "do you love me?" I literally had to stop to ask what he said just to see if it was for real. I gave him a handful of M&Ms the other day because I wanted some (it's impossible to sneak snacks around this kid) and told him it was "just because I loved him." Let the manipulation begin. 4. (Not a quote, but made Derrick and I roll with laughter) Normally in the early mornings the only words we hear out of Kai's mouth is "I need my juice." As I've mentioned in recent blogs, Kai wears his sunglasses ALOT lately and I had pulled out my old cowgirl hat to put on our snowman a few days prior. To our surprise, Kai walks into our room happy as a lark one morning with his sunglasses on (upside down of course), cowboy hat adjusted slightly to the side, and new nerf gun in hand! Just picture it. We thought we were being ransomed for juice!

Our random week

80/20 chance it's a BOY!              Our little munchkin AGAIN chose not to cooperate very well on the 3rd ultrasound to determine sex! The doctor is "pretty" sure she saw male parts, although no guarentees. So, we are calling it a "he" at our house until further notice! All else looked healthy as well....my cervix was unchanged from last month's appointment, which is highly encouraging. Especially since I've been having some major anxious/paranoid feelings this past week. My doctor's appointments will now be every 2 weeks to monitor any changes more closely.

The new half-pipe at the Ponderosa Sk8 park is now completely finished! Derrick is in heaven! The weather seems much warmer this week, so we ventured there to check it out the other night. Addie enjoyed short rides on the skateboard and Kai practiced his "dropping in" (on his butt). (I have several cute videos, although not able to post them for some reason...so if I can figure it out you'll see them coming up.)

Just a cute one of Kai. He's been really making relationships with his stuffed animals lately, especially the moose (which he calls "Moosie"). He knew our camera got fixed and asked me while he was playing, "Mom, quick take a picture while we're all together."

Easter 2010 with a camera!!

Happy Easter! Yes, we're officially back to blogging! Here's the highlights from the weekend:

I'm going with less words and more pics at this point....

The only Easter egg dying Addie did was munching on cardboard cut-outs.

Lil' diaper buddies! Stickers have been a hit lately.......Kai sticks them everywhere and Addie eats them!
Egg dying, painting, and sponge-painting......very messy! But Kai loved every second.
Mom and Kai sponge-painting our eggs.....blending MANY colors as well.
Addie laughing at Kai during lunch .....she "feeds off" her brothers humor! 0
Easter 2010 started with a sunrise hike to the cross behind our house (Derrick and friends--burrr) and breakfast at our house (Shelbie prepared while kiddos slept)....sticky buns, banana bread, strawberries. YUM!
These are the Easter pails we made for the kids.....they both loved the "grass." Bad idea, but I couldn't imagine a basket without it.

Goofy sunglass morning!! Kai has been wearing his "real" sunglasses almost ALL week....mainly upside down. We get alot of comments wherever we go!
Our little LadyBug!
Easter 2010 Family Shot at church.
Addalyn's Easter outfit----she loves to stand and play at her music table (although she can't get there herself yet).
Daddy with the happy munchkins on our way to church.

Mommy and the kiddos ready for church.
Kai participated in an Easter egg hunt that was open to the community and held at Ponderosa. It was brutally windy, but he managed to scrape up some eggs despite with miserable weather!
We are very thankful this Easter day for the saving gift of Christ Jesus through his death and resurrection. It is true at times we all are prisoners to something (blogging, money, kids, alcohol, shopping, etc, etc) but by daily surrendering our lives we find true freedom in Christ. Happy Easter to everyone. Please stick with us...we'll be posting more as we accumulate a few more pics!
